When it comes to conversations about racial reconciliation, the Church should be at the forefront. Because we have the Holy Spirit, we have a unique power to break the hold that racism has on our society and in our world.
And as we do that, we want to make sure that we’re framing the conversation in the most helpful way possible. So we need to choose our terms carefully. When it comes to a term like white privilege, there is no shortage of controversy. Is it a term we should be using? Is it a concept that’s helpful in furthering racial reconciliation?
Our opinion is “yes” to both of those questions. On this episode, we discuss and explore why that we believe that to be the case.
Believe it or not, the bible actually has a lot to say about privilege, so we want to take a look at white privilege not only from a sociological perspective, but also a theological one.
