The cornerstone of the Christian faith is the resurrection of Jesus. If he didn’t raise from the dead, “we are of all people most to be pitied” (1 Corinthians 15:9). And that’s because if Jesus died and stayed dead, then he was just like any other man. But if he really did raise from the dead, then he was and is everything he said he is.

So on this episode of the podcast, we want to answer this question: how can we really know that Jesus really rose from the dead?

On the face of it, it’s a pretty crazy claim. But when you look at the facts that every ancient historian (Christian or not) is willing to agree on, it actually makes the most sense of all the possibilities. And that’s what we explore in the episode.

QUOTES FROM THIS EPISODE

Even the most staunchly atheistic ancient historian will agree that Jesus was a real person who lived and was crucified in Israel in the first century. Click To Tweet The disciples had nothing to gain from lying about Jesus' resurrection and everything to lose. They had absolutely no motive to lie. Click To Tweet There's no way that Jesus survived his wounds, faked his death, and reappeared three days later. Click To Tweet If someone would have produced Jesus' corpse, the whole movement of Christianity would have stopped before it started. But that never happened. Click To Tweet Jesus' resurrection is a sign that we will one day be resurrected. Click To Tweet
